What meat can I give my baby?
The introduction of meat in the complementary feeding of a baby is an important step, since it provides essential nutrients for their growth as proteins of high biological value and minerals such as iron or zinc. Here are some tips on how to do it in a safe and healthy way:
- They can include meat from the age of 6 months, like most foods.
- It is preferable to start with lean and tender meats, such as chicken or turkey, always well cooked and with a texture that can range from mashed to pieces with an adapted cut, such as those proposed in the Baby Led Weaning (BLW) method.
- It is advisable to mix it with vegetables: you will love our meat and vegetable jars!
- Other meat options are beef, pork or lamb, options with a slightly different nutritional profile that will provide variety to the diet.
- Remember that their protein requirements are specific and that their renal system has to adapt to these foods of animal origin, so the amounts should be a maximum of 20-30g per day so that their organism can manage this animal protein without any problem.
- Avoid wild game meats such as deer, partridge or wild boar, because they are hunted with lead ammunition and contain high amounts of this substance.

Smileat's organic jars are made in an old canning factory, following the traditional method of past generations. The elaboration consists of beating all the ingredients slowly through a potato masher, leaving a different texture and color in each jar. In addition, all the jars are sterilized and pass through a vacuum process, thus avoiding the need to include additives and preservatives in the purees. All the raw material used for the jars is organic, free of toxins and pesticides, ensuring 100% product quality.
That's why we say our jars are made like at home; if life gets too busy to cook one day, you can have one of our products on hand and ensure you're providing the best quality.
