Our history
It was the year 2015 in Madrid, and Alberto, who had not yet turned 30 and had just become an uncle for the first time, received a call from someone very close who had been diagnosed with a disease that really sucks.
At that moment his life changed and his head began to wonder, "Could it be because of what we eat?"
During a visit outside of Spain, there were countless healthy alternatives for the little ones, especially focused on organic food. So, he called Javier, his lifelong friend from school, and they set out to explore healthy alternatives for the little ones in Spain.

Our commitment
Back in 2015—even though organic food for adults was already available—it was nearly impossible to find anything of comparable quality in the baby food aisle at the supermarket.
The idea was really nothing more than a necessary solution: our little ones were crying out for help. At the time, Alberto and Javier were living outside of Spain, but they decided to drop everything to start Smileat.
That’s how Smileat was born, based on three principles that are as clear as they are essential: that food is crucial to our health; that chemicals, fertilizers, hormones, and waste are bad for us; and that we can avoid all of this by choosing organic foods and sustainable packaging.
