We launched 100% nuts and peanut powder
We answer the most frequently asked questions
What is the 100% nuts and peanuts product?
It is a blend of different nuts (hazelnut, cashew, and walnut) and peanuts, ground into powder and unroasted, for easy consumption and to avoid the choking risk associated with whole nuts and peanuts.
Its ingredients are: hazelnut* with skin 32%, walnuts* with skin 32%, peeled cashew* 18%, and peeled peanut* 18%. *From organic production.
Why introduce 100% nuts and peanuts early?
We cannot prevent your little one's allergies, but we can help you:
- Eliminate the risk of choking thanks to its powdered form.
- Provide significant amounts of fiber and quality plant protein.
- Easily include a food recommended from 6 months by the Spanish Association of Pediatrics and the WHO in their diet.
Why is it so innovative?
We proudly say it is the only product on the Spanish market that is a 100% ground nuts and peanuts blend intended for children. We want to make it easier to incorporate nuts into children's diets without the risk of choking, which is the main reason their introduction is usually delayed.
How do I know if I can give it to my baby?
You can give it from 6 months if these requirements are met:
- There is no allergy to other foods nor does the baby have atopic dermatitis*
- There is no family history of allergies to nuts and/or peanuts*
- You have already started complementary feeding and have frequently tried a variety of foods without allergic reactions.
*In these cases, it is necessary to consult your pediatrician or allergist beforehand.
How can I start offering them?
Our recommendations are:
- 1st dose: Give 1 teaspoon (3g) with porridge or puree, for example. It is recommended to give it during the day and observe the baby for two hours after the dose in case any allergy symptoms appear.
- 2nd dose: If no allergy appears on those days, repeat the same 3g dose again.
- Other servings: From there, we recommend including 1 tablespoon (6g) in their meals once a day, about 3-4 times a week during the first year.
How do I include them in their daily diet?
They can be included in cereal porridges, fruit purees, in their meals, with natural yogurt (from 9 months) or even in homemade recipes like oat pancakes!
Why were they all mixed at once and not separately?
Peanut proteins are structurally very similar to those of tree nuts. For this reason, it is quite common for people allergic to peanuts to also be allergic to some of these tree nuts, as they have high cross-reactivity.
In the case of an allergic reaction, the specialist will identify which food is responsible.
Once I was told it was better to introduce peanut first… is that true?
Regarding whether to introduce peanut first to check tolerance and then the rest of the tree nuts, our team of allergists and pediatricians with whom we designed this product considers that it can be done at the same time.
This is because peanut proteins have significant homology with those of tree nuts, showing a high cross-reactivity. In the hypothetical case of an allergic reaction to the mix, subsequent allergy testing would determine which one(s) are responsible. In many cases, when the allergy appears, the child is usually sensitized to both peanut and several tree nuts. Therefore, they do not consider there to be a clear advantage in introducing peanut first.
Why is peanut included in the mix?
Our team of allergists and pediatricians, with whom we designed this product, consider it very interesting to make it. In a single product, all the allergens of this type of food for which future allergy prevention is intended are offered. This simplifies its administration without having to use two ingredients (peanut and nut mix) that families will use several times a week. We make it easy for you!
